What Is Sirovasthi?

Sirovasthi is a controlled oil-retention therapy for the head region. The oil, temperature, duration and supporting procedures are chosen according to the individual’s condition and tolerance.

THERAPY PROCESS

How Is Sirovasthi Performed?

A specially fitted cap is secured around the head to create a contained space. Warm prescribed medicated oil is carefully poured and retained within the cap while the temperature and individual’s comfort are monitored.

The oil is removed after the prescribed duration, followed by gentle cleaning and rest.

THERAPY GUIDANCE

Before Sirovasthi

• Eat only a light meal beforehand
• Inform the doctor about headaches, dizziness, seizures, blood pressure, scalp conditions, pregnancy and medications
• Remove contact lenses, jewellery and hearing devices if advised
• Wear comfortable clothing
• Follow all preparation instructions from the clinical team

After Sirovasthi

• Rest quietly after therapy
• Avoid immediate strenuous activity
• Protect the head from cold air and dust
• Bathe only after the recommended time
• Report dizziness, headache or unusual discomfort immediately
